1st place in live tourney

I finally won my first live tourney in a casino on Wed nite. It was a 40. + 5 buy in and it was ladies only. I went in this same one twice 2 years ago and got knocked out early. This time slow and steady won the race. It came to heads up and second happened to be my cousin so we chopped and walked away with 414 each. I could have played it out for 506 but figured why not chop. We get to play in the tournament of champions in Aug for free because of our finishes. What a rush.

Thank you so much. I am planning to go in a few more before the tournament of champions for the extra practice and the money as well of course. They are having them every Wed nite till Aug. 26th. I'll let everyone know how I did each time I go. I play a ton on line but live very seldom so it was a great accomplishment for me.

Good job Girl!! Winning live is a rush for sure. Hope you win more of those before the champions night in August! Maybe if you could win a few of 'em... you could cut down on the numbers competing against you in August! Good luck to you!

Unfortunately I can't cut down on the competition cause if anyone wins 1st or 2nd more than once they can't take 2 seats so they let third get a seat. If the same people play each week I will get to know them better and have a better chance in the finals. It will probably end up with all the regulars playing that last game. I'll have to try and change up my game each time I go so they can't read me. The only thing I can't change is the patience factor. When the time comes I may come in a get some advice on the changes to make.

congrats Tukie, where do you play at? In the states?

I'm in Ontario, Canada. We have two casinos in our city. One is slots only and the other is slots and tables. I usually stay away from them but thought I'd try the tourney cause its was ladies only. Glad I did. Maybe when I get really good I can step it up and try one with the men lol.

Well I entered again last nite. Managed to take 4th place for $162.00. Had chip lead most of the nite. Final table big chip lead but lost a lot chips with A7 clubs trying to get a player out. Flopped 2 clubs with jack, she went all in and I called. This player was super aggressive figured correctly she had pair jacks. Didn't hit my flush or ace and gave her chip lead. There were 9 of us left at the time. Hung in and got fourth. Felt I played a pretty good game but folded two crucial hands that would have put me over the top. One only cost 600 to call but was gut shot str8t draw on the flop and early in the game would have hit on turn should have called at least once. The other one was final table blinds 1000 and 2000 no raise had 9 7 off flop came j 9 7 and I would have hit full house. Chip leader was all in I could have taken her way down and probably won it all . Oh well still all in all had a good nite.

Wish I could find some action around here. Of course, I would first have to leave the house to go somewhere OTHER than to my office and to class. LOL

Nice job tukie, lot of times you see hands you would have won. The best players often see those kinda of hands go. Don't kid yourself you played an exellent game and 4th place is a nice finish. Keep it solid and you'll get the first place pize sooner then you think

Another nice live showing tukie! I have a good feeling for you and the tournament of champions. Keep you game solid, dont try changing it to much. Playing 1 way then another could get you off your game if you find mild success in playing a different way then you normally do(fall into bad habits). I do this when i play omaha hi/lo, i change my game to adapt to other player aggression and a win some then it turns around and bite me, so be careful. hope that made so sense.

I can't believe I did it again last nite. Took down first again. Was almost out of chips with about 12 people left hung in there managed to get some chips back and went the distance again. I beginning to get used to these winning ways lol. Be a big disappointment when I don't cash. I better lap it up while I can. Must say the patience angle paid off huge last nite. Thought I was done for but played my usual game with a bit more aggression (cause they wouldn't call me when I raised too big cause I established a pretty tight image the last two times I played) and it put me in good position for a bit of bluffing. I'm starting to feel I can read some of the players as well which I find is the hardest part of playing.

Great job tukie! Sounds to me like your game is right on now. Keep it up... that Champions night is in your grasp. TAKE IT DOWN!

Exellent work tukie, reading the players will help you take control of every game keep it up. BTW any donkeys ask you for a loan yet? lol Awesome stuff, glad your winning. I love live play, it's not the same as looking at a monitor

Great job tukie you are just cleaning up on these live events way to go!

Unfortunately I suffered my first loss this Wed. Couldn't get any hands. Oh well can't expect to win money every time. There is always next week. I will keep on going every week just the same I'm enjoying the live game even more than the online experience. I still have a lot to learn about reading the players and maybe I fold a little too often. I may try a little different strategy next week.

changing stratagy might be a good idea if you are facing some of the same opponents week after week. Dont let em get a "perfect" read on your play.
